Exams are coming!!
But, not to worry! The exam is actually a cumulative test of material covered first semester and it will count as two test grades on the second quarter report card. Students were given a study guide in advance . Testing starts January 23rd!
We've finished our letter writing studies, and most of the students are ready for business....literally! Those business letters are looking very good!
During exam week, we will have no homework, tests or quizzes. We will read some stories aloud, enjoy some poetry, and, of course, on the appointed day, well take the exam. It's long, but not hard. A few minutes per night of review should do the trick. Bring plenty of notebook paper and pens to class.
After exams, there will be lots of excitement as we race through the third nine weeks! In fact, we will REALLY be racing, right along with the mushers of the famed Iditarod Dog Sled Race in Alaska! This is a language-lovers way to race through the wilds of our northern territory! More to follow on this! Keep checking the website!
Ask your student to see the third quarter synopsis of study units when we begin second semester the first week of February. It's an overview that might help you know which questions to ask about English class that won't result in the teenage response, "We didn't do anything in school today."
