I plan to research the construction that is currently underway at McLean high school. Construction affects all of McLean high school, and I plan to inform the readers of it. To do this, I will interview students, faculty, and even some construction workers.

What I know:
McLean high school has been under construction for more than a year now. It affects students in many ways, from the loud noises issuing from jackhammers during class to the wires that hang dangerously from the ceiling and make students feel clostraphobic. Currently, construction work is being done in order to create more hallways, classrooms, a new ceiling, and more. The only part of the construction work that has been completely finished so far is the library, but even that will still undergo more work.

Interview #1

Me: Does the construction at McLean affect your school day in any way? If so, how?
Ravi: Yes, I am going to have to switch classrooms at some point of time.

Me: So you're are in a class that is going to be moved to a trailer?
Ravi: Yes

Me: Which do you prefer, trailers or classrooms?
Ravi: Classrooms

Me: How do you feel about the newly constructed library?
Ravi: All they did was make it bigger and cleaner, nothing special.

Me: Do you feel that the construction work being done will benefit the school?
Ravi: No. I don't know why we are building some of the things.

Me: When would be an appropriate time for this work to be finished?
Ravi: Last year, when they said it would be done.

Me: Are the construction workers, in your opinion, doing a good job?
Ravi: No. They should work harder and longer.

Me: Is any aspect of the construction work worthwhile?
Ravi: Yes. Making the classrooms larger will be good, but they should have done the work over the summer. I would also like to get some ceilings sometime soon.

Me: Overall, is the construction worthwhile?
Ravi: The construction work will help the school, overall. The only drawback is that I probably who't be here by the time they finish it.

The construction work currently going on at McLean High School has affected everyone who goes there. Though most students and teachers agree that the construction work is necessary to improve the school's learning environment, there still are some negative aspects of it.
There are various sections of the school under construction. In the blue hallway, the hall is being renovated and new classrooms are being built. In the orange hallway, a new corridor is being constructed, which will contain many new classrooms and make it easier for students to move about during the day. The ceilings of the hallways are also having work done to them. Yet another section of the school that is having construction work done on it is the courtyard, which will be remade.
Already, the school library has been renovated and made bigger. Pasha Hosseibor, a student at McLean High, said of the new library, "I think it looks much better, as well as being more organized. I believe that at least that part of the construction work has been a success."
Though these changes will improve the school, there is also a downside to them. For example, because the construction workers have been doing work during the school day, many teachers and students have found the dust and the loud noises created by the construction to be distracting.
Said Ravi Denish, another student at McLean High School, "I think that making classrooms bigger and the other changes that they are making are good, but they should have done them over the summer, or at least when we aren't in school. I would also like to get some ceilings sometime soon."
Classes in the orange and blue hallways have also been relocated to trailers, because classes are being torn down or renovated. One math teacher at McLean who had been moved to a trailer due to the construction explained, "It really was a pain to make the transition from a classroom to a trailer, and it sent the class back quite a bit."
Another concern of students is the amount of dust in the air due to the renovation of the halls and the lack of ceilings. Said Pasha Hosseibor, "The construction work donsen't affect me that much during the day, but I find the dust in the air to be very bothersome"
Despite these negative sides to the construction work being done, students and teachers alike think that it will benefit the school, at least when it is finished.
Commented Ravi Denish, "This construction work will help the school, overall. The only drawback is that I probably who't be here by the time they finish it."

Paragraph 1: Intro-Jordan update
Paragraphs 2-9: Opinions on return
Paragraphs 10: Summary (conclusion)

Interview #1: Steven Wickman

How do you feel about MJ's return?
I think it was a good idea. He retired prematurely and it has really helped the Wizards to have him.

How is MJ contributing to the Wizards?
In addition to scoring points, he, along with Doug Collins, is leading the team and has really improved the players around him.

Should he come back another year?
Definately.

Do you think MJ can measure up to the new, young stars of the NBA?
He might be older than them, but he has experience on his side, and has been able to outplay everyone in the NBA.

Michal Jordan's Return:

Michael Jordan's return to the NBA has been one of the most talked about events of the past year. When he first decided to come out of retirement for the second time in his career, many people questioned whether Jordan could play at his old level, despite being 38 and in a league filled with young stars.
Jordan has quieted most of those doubts, because after 46 games he is averaging 24.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, as well as being the main reason that his team, the Washington Wizards, are performing so well.
Jordan's return has received huge support from the people of the Washington D.C. area. Said Stephen Wickman, a McLean resident, "Jordan retired prematurely, and so I'm happy that he has come back and played for the Wizards. He has been the main reason that they have done so well, and the younger Wizards players are learning a lot from him."
The return of Michael Jordan has also had a great impact on the NBA in general. Jason Van Dee, a student at McLean High School, explained, "Since Jordan came back, the NBA has gotten more exciting. The younger players have gotten more competitive, to try to prove that they can go against Jordan, and his return has re-ignited people's interest in basketball that they lost when he retired."
Jordan has lived up to and exceeded the expectations of many people. He is ranked seventh in the league in scoring, has become the oldest person in history to score 50 points or greater in one game, and is largely responsible for making the Wizards playoff contenders.
Commented Jason Van Dee, "He may not be as athletic as Kobe Bryant, Allan Iverson, or the other stars in the NBA. However, his experience gives him a huge advantage, and he plays much smarter basketball than anyone in the NBA."
