This page can be a great help or your worst enemy. It is up to you.
Remember that when you click the "submit/done" buttons, it is the same as pledging the honor code. This page will be updated at the end of classes each day. Remember your summer work. It varies depending upon whether you are going to Latin III/IV or AP. First is that for the III/IVs (and yes, I know it is the same as last year. I just didn't have time to make 2 different ones): LATIN III/IV SUMMER WORK You must complete the following assignments online by logging onto your current Latin2Spring webpage: http://www.quia.com/pages/orc2.html. I suggest that you review with your handouts, the online workbooks and the following link on your webpage: Help for Identifying Subjunctive Usages http://www.quia.com/cz/48504.html You must receive at least 90% correct on each of these assignments: 35.1, 35.5, 37.2, 39.3, and 42.2. You must also translate all of the reading on pages 51-52 in your Part III book. If case you do not still have the book, I have attached copies. Do not answer the questions which follow the reading. Email your reading to me at: classicrun@aol.com. You may cut and paste or send as an attachment. All work must be completed prior to the first day of school. On Friday, August 29th, you will have a test on the subjunctives, ablative absolutes and indirect statement. Note that since this is a test, it will not drop. Have a great summer and I will look forward to seeing you all in the Fall. Ms. Rhodes AP LATIN LIT SUMMER WORK First, you must read The Catullan Revolution handout which I have supplied. The AP expects you to know about Catullus and the background of his poetry. You will take a test on August 31st on this material. Go to the AP Latin Literature webpage at: http://www.quia.com/pages/lit5.html. Scroll down to the useful links. Read the material labeled Background and Commentary at: http://www.quia.com/files/quia/users/rhodese/Background. Read Catullus and the Roman Life of Luxury: http://www.quia.com/files/quia/users/rhodese/Catullus---the-Roman-Life-of-Luxury Read the Life of Catullus: http://www.quia.com/files/quia/users/rhodese/The-Life-of-Catullus AP expects you to know this material. You must also take one multiple choice practice exam and submit this exam to me at the beginning of the school year. There are fewer lines on this exam but you must know the material extremely well. Feel free to contact me by phone or email over the summer if you have questions. You are now juniors or seniors, do not wait until the last minute to do this!!!!
