GOALS * Usage of oral and written language in real life situation to better communicate in the language studied. * Become familiar with the geography, history, and culture of the target country. * To prepare students for advanced study. EXPECTATIONS * Be on time! * Bring materials! * Be prepared! * Assignments are due when specified! * Attendance is crucial! * Get after school help if needed! * Respect the rights of others! * Follow the rules per BMS handbook! * No chewing gum! * Have Fun! ASSESSMENT Grade depends on: * Homework * Quizzez and/or tests * Classroom activities * Projects and/or presentations * Class participation * Extra credit if one chooses to do it WORLD LANGUAGE STANDARDS * COMMUNICATION: Communicate in languages other than English. * CULTURES: Gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures. * CONNECTIONS: Connect with other disciplines and acquire information. * COMPARISONS: Compare languages and cultures. * COMMUNITIES: Participate in multilingual communities at home and around the world. A MESSAGE TO MY STUDENTS Education is based on mutual trust and consideration for one another. In my class one must be ready to practice, study, memorize, do written work, and participate.
