MANUAL TECHNOLOGY
How did we survive before the Age of electronics?
You will design and create a simple object that performs a task or fills a need. 
It must not use electricity or batteries.  It must fulfill one of the areas of basic human needs for survival: counting or calculating, keeping track of  hourly  or seasonal time, protection from the elements, obtaining food, making clothing, communication, recording and storing information.  You can work alone or as part of a group; your family can help.
It is due no later than May 10th.

Here are some examples or suggestions:
COUNTING
Any device that counts
Up to 1- or 20
Such as an egg         
Carton with beans

SHELTER
hand built shelter

FOOD
solar oven
smoking food for storage

CLOTHING
Any clothing made entirely by hand

RECORDING AND STORING INFORMATION

Be creative

TRANSPORTATION
be creative not bizarre

Please try to come up with your own original idea.  Your object needs only to perform ONE, SIMPLE task, so don't get carried away.
