More About Heat

Week of February 12, 2001

The Games, Quizzes, and Resource Links on this page will help you learn skills, terms and concepts about the form of energy we call heat.  The material is covered in Chapter 21 in our textbook, Conceptual Physics by Paul Hewitt.

  • Use the Games to learn terms or concepts.
  • Use the Quiz to measure your progress.
  • Check out the Useful Links to get more information about a topic.

Suggested Strategy

  • First, take the short QUIZ, before you try any of the games. Write down your score. Remember, the score is not part of your grade.  It's just to let you know where you are, and how much progress you've made.
  • Then, try the JAVA, HANGMAN, or JUMBLED WORD games to learn more about heat.
  • Next, take the QUIZ again, to see how much you've improved.
  • Finally, Go to the QUIZ SESSIONS LOG IN.
    • Enter Heat-2 in the Session Name box.
    • Enter your name in the Student Name box.
    • Please enter your last name first.
    • For example, I would enter Marin Fred.

Ten questions will be presented, one at a time. After you're finished, click on "Submit Quiz".  You can repeat the test if you want to try to improve your score.  I'll count your highest score.

Have Fun.
