Dear Third Grade Students and Parents, WEEK OF DECEMBER 14--23 READING: We are continuing to read "Little House on the Prairie". Every day we'll read at least 20 pages and take a quiz. Our main skills are fluency and comprehension--pretty basic reading. It takes a little more time every day because of the number of pages we're reading but the students love the book and it's so good for them. MATH: Multiplication--We're taking the 7's test Wednesday, finish 8's and 9's by vacation. After Christmas we'll review all facts and begin division facts. SPELLING-- Frequently misspelled words: and, said, goes, going, some, something, you, your, friend, school, where, myself, tonight, lying, field, enough. We are on a really weird schedule with these because of the snow days! Practice test will be Friday, real test on Monday, Dec. 21. I wrote them out in cursive this time. Their cursive looks wonderful! RELIGION--We are in charge of Mass Thursday at 12:45, and will be acting out the rosary on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 10:00 AM Please join us if you can! SCIENCE--Water, weather, the water cycle (cont.) SOCIAL STUDIES--Natural resources, facts about homesteading HANDWRITING--upper case H, K, T, F, we're almost finished! DON'T FORGET-- Gift exchange Tuesday--1:10 dismissal that day. Have a wonderful, joyouse, blessed Christmas!!!!! Yours in Christ, Mrs. Barker
