Happy 2002 to all!!!  Hopefully we can make this a successful year beginning with being sure we complete all of our assignments and score well on our tests.  The marking period for Literature ends Friday January 18, 2002.
Rport cards will be issued at the end of this month.  Each student has conferenced with me about their current average in Literature.  Each student is aware of wht they must do to kepp their grade in good standing.Let's kick the year off right!!
This week 1/14 to 1/18 is full of activities
Mon. 1/14
  Students and teacher will be reviewing for the Racing the Bear assessment.  Students read this story last week and have already discussed the story elements in class.  This is just a recap to refresh their minds from the weekend.
     Students will be introduced to this weeks vocabulary list.  They will work on vocabulary building activities #1 and #2 from their vocabulary packet.
Homework:  Study for Racing the Great Bear and complete any classwork which was left undone.

Tues. 1/15
     Students will complete Racing the Great Bear assessment.
     Students will complete vocabulary exercises #3 and #4 in their vocabulary packets.
Homework:  Students will compose a paragraph which describes setting.  Describe a room you spend much time in.  Without directly identifying it, help readers what room it is by using their minds eye.
Wed. 1/16
     Students and teacher will review elements of a well composed paragraph.
     Students will be revising their paragraphs which they composed for homework.
Homework: Students will complete vocabulary exercise #5 from their packet.
Thurs. 1/17
     Review homework
     Share edited paragraphs
     Vocabulary pre-test
Fri. 1/18
     Students complete their vocabulary assessment.
