* For this assignment, you will need to graph the data presented in spreadsheet format on the "gasoline prices" website. This a direct link from my math page.
After you link to this website, you will need to follow these directions:
1. Click on "New York" under the subtitle "STATES"
You will be sent to this page:

Create XLS File
2. Once here, click on the URL at the bottom of the page to access the spreadsheet on gasoline prices for your graph.
The folder at the bottom left of the screen will read "File Information". You will need to click on the folder titled "NY Motor Gasoline" just to the right of this.
** Remember: Your x-axis will be Date and your y-axis will be Prices. This can be done in Quattro Pro or Excel.
*** Compare this graph with the graph on crude oil prices(also linked from the math page) by responding to the following questions:
1. What similarities do you notice in the data patterns represented in the two graphs?
2. What can you say about the influence of crude oil prices on the price of gasoline locally?
3. What factors do you think determine the price per barrel of crude oil? Explain.
4. What local factors could effect the price of gasoline? Explain.
You may cut and paste these questions into Microsoft Word or Corel Word Perfect and e-mail them to me. If you choose this option, please attach your graph of gasoline prices to this file.
