BIENVENIDOS A LA CLASE DE ESPAÑOL 2 Welcome to our Spanish Class at Falcon Cove Middle for the 2009-2010 school year. Together we can make this a successful year of learning and growth. The students' success depends upon the cooperation and teamwork between student, parent, and teacher. To reach our goals, it is imperative that we are supportive of each other and work as a true TEAM!
Although this class tends to be fun and exciting for most students, it is a very hard course that requires lots of work and study. But, at the same time, it is a very pleasant way for students to learn about another culture and another language. COURSE DESCRIPTION : Spanish II will reinforce and enhance previously acquired basic skills in Spanish I. It will continue developing communicative skills and cross-cultural understanding. The students will increase their listening, reading, writing and oral skills. They will work in small groups on a variety of activities, and will make oral presentations individually and in groups using the vocabulary and grammatical patterns they learn. Successful completion of this course results in one High School credit. OBJECTIVES: *Study vocabulary and basic grammatical structures. *Speak conversational Spanish with correct pronunciation.
*Communicate effectively in Spanish, both written and orally, using complete sentences, adequate vocabulary and correct grammar.
*Develop an understanding of the various Spanish cultures.
TEXTBOOK AND WORKBOOK: Exprésate II ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS: 1. Record all warm up, classwork and homework assignments. All warm up, classwork and homework are expected to be completed and returned by the assigned date. 2. Seek help if you don't understand.
3. Come prepared to class. Participate, be alert and pay attention.
4. Maintain a Spanish notebook with all your work. All work must be dated in Spanish. It will be considered incomplete if dates are missing.
5. Review vocabulary words, and study every day what you learned in class for at least 20 minutes.
6. Visit this website, and www.homeworkhero.com, especially if you are sick or absent.
