Dear Parents,
I am looking forward to teaching your son or daughter. I want all of my students to be as successful as they can be in my English class. Your child's success will depend on how well we all work together. Please help by making sure your child completes all assignments. GRADES
Every assignment completed in class will be graded. Every assignment is worth 100 points. Some assignments will be graded for accuracy and completion while others will be graded only for completion. Tests will also be worth 100 points but will be weighted 3 times. That means that when a students earns a grade for a test, that grade is essentially recorded 3 times.
HOMEWORK
I believe that homework is an essential part of learning. I will not assign homework every day. So, when there is an assignment, it is important that the student completes it at home. Parents, please make certain that your son or daughter does their homework. Often, when there is not an assignment to be completed at home, there will be reading assignments given in order for the students to be prepared for the next day's class.
TUTORING
Tutoring is available before school in Room 211. I am available from 7 am until the time school begins. I am rarely available after 3:30 but special arrangements can be made with me should a student need to stay after school for tutoring or for make-up assignments.
ATTENDANCE
If at all possible don’t be absent.Students are responsible for all information missed when absent. School Board Policy will be followed regarding attendance.
TARDIES
A student is tardy if they are not in their assigned seat when the bell starts to ring. The six minutes between classes should be sufficient time for everyone to arrive on time. Punishment will be dealt with consistently on an individual basis according to school policy.
