SPELLING WORDS: Please check the back of the “Family Times” newsletter or the 3rd grade web site.
Parents: Very important! I’ve had to change the date of my room parent and room parent helper meeting from Wednesday, Oct. 8th, to Thursday, Oct. 9th at 3:15 in my room. Please make note of this. All who are interested are welcome to come!
If you can’t be a room parent or helper, I could use a volunteer to help me collect and place book orders on line. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in doing. Thanks!!
We have begun the AR and Book-It programs. You should have received an Oct. Book-It form last week. Please keep it in a safe place, total and sign the paper, and return the first day we’re in school in Nov. If it becomes lost, just record the books read and the total time spent reading in Oct. on a piece of paper, sign, and return to school in Nov. !
Don’t forget that 1st quarter interims come home Thursday, Oct. 9th. Please sign and return the bottom portion by Friday, Oct. 10th. Thanks!!
We’ve started a new unit in Math on Addition (chapter 3). We’ll be studying addition patterns, estimating sums, adding 2, 3, and 4-digit numbers with regrouping, and the associative property of addition. Please practice addition facts with your child! Thanks!!
This is our last story for the first unit in reading. Unit 1 reading tests (comprehension, phonics, study skills, vocabulary) will be next week. Our vocabulary test will be on Wed., Oct. 15th. Please review the Family Times newsletters.!
Lastly, don’t forget our test on Map Skills is Friday, Oct. 10th.!
