I am very excited to have your student in my class! The following is important information about READING. The students will need to keep all assignments before and after they are graded. At the end of the nine weeks, this will be checked and counted as a test grade. The students will be given a new AR Testing Log each nine weeks. They use the log to record their AR test scores and the percent of goal they have earned. Then, every Tuesday, students will need to bring their AR Testing Log home so that parents can sign them. In this way, parents wil be informed of how well their child is doing and the percent of goal earned. The students read AR for at least 15 minutes every day in class. If a student uses his time wisely, then he/she should not have any trouble achieving their goal. Plus, students need to read 20 minutes each night. This is particularly important if the student has been absent or is behind in their AR goal points. Then, the rest of the class period is devoted to other reading materials and skills. Together - students, teachers, and parents can make this a successful year! Thank you!
