Then end of the school year is getting near. So much to do, so little time.
The children will be dismissed at 12:00 during the week of May 27 - 30. Please make arrangements for your child.
We hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day presents. All of the kids worked very hard to make their slide show special. ENJOY!
LANGUAGE ARTS / SOCIAL STUDIES / WRITING
The children have been learning about birds and the attributes of birds. We went to the Vines Science Center on Wednesday to view various types of birds and to learn more about their beaks and feet.
The children have also been learning about the process of Writer's Workshop. They all have their very own Writer's Notebook. The Writer's Notebook helps them organize their writing and it also supplies them with tools to help strengthen their writing. The have been learning about writing drafts, editing, revising, conferencing and publishing. They have been writing assigned pieces and self-selected pieces.
MATH
The children have been learning about multiplication and division. They have been multiplying and dividing groups of objects. They have enjoyed getting ready for THIRD grade.
They have also been learning about QDPAC.

The children have been using this process in solving story problems. This will help them with problem-solving in third grade.
We have been reviewing addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers with regrouping.
