3.) As a whole class, students will discuss cultural comparisons related to how "naipes" are used in different regions of the world.

4.) While using a deck of "naipes," the instructor will randomly assign a new speaking partner for each student.

5.) Paired students will choose a new assigned seat for this class.

3.) In pairs, and then as a whole group, students will discuss the pedagogy behind the manner in which the syllabus was presented to the class over the past week. As part of this, students will discuss the basic anatomy and function of nerve cells and synapses.

4.) Individually, students will review the Unit 1 Vocabulary sheets [SEE ME FOR A COPY!] and mark the items they do not yet know.

5.) In pairs, students will discuss items they do not yet know from the unit vocabulary and take notes on the English translation of various expressions.

2.) In pairs, students will review what they remember about brain function and learning from yesterday's lesson.

3.) As a whole group, students will review the book damage/replacement policy.

4.) Students will be assigned a textbook (ONLY IF THE STUDENT CHOSE TO TAKE A TEXTBOOK HOME. You may opt to use the online/CD version of the book instead) [SEE ME!]

5.) In small groups, students will review the meaning and pronunciation of various vocabulary expressions from text pp. 6 - 8 and on the Unit 1 Vocabulary sheet.

6.) Individually, students will choose 20 words they do NOT know from the Unit 1 vocabulary sheet and begin creating Concept Cards. On one side of a standard 3x5 card, the student will write the word in SPANISH ONLY. On the other side, the student will draw a PICTURE of the word or phrase and COLOR it. [DO NOT USE ENGLISH!
