The Boy who was Raised by Librarians
By Carla Morris
Illustrated by Brad Sneed
Melvin practically lived in the Livingston Public library. He was so curious that he started visiting the library as a small boy. The three librarians, Marge, Betty and Leeola were very anxious to help him find whatever he needed. That’s the way librarians are.
They helped identify bugs. find websites for snakes, and coach him on his part in the third grade play. During the summer reading program at the library Melvin was always the first to complete all the books. He thought the spend the night party at the library was the absolute best.
In the upper grades he entered many contests , science fairs and his friendly librarians always helped him. When he was in high school he even worked part time in the library.
The librarians were so proud of him when he graduated and went off to college. That’s the way librarians are.
This story of Melvin and his three librarian friends shares the sheer love of learning with its audience. For the student who loves the library he/she will love all of the comical adventures of Melvin and his friends.
This is a great read aloud for library orientation, library week or anytime just for fun.
