U.S. History Course Objectives:
Objectives of US History include the following. Students will study and analyze the Colonial Period, the nation's beginning, the Revolutionary War, Slavery issues, division of the Union, and reunion of the nation. They will understand the changes, advancements, and struggles that the US faced with imperalism and becoming a world power. The effects of the economic boom, WWI, Great Depression, and recovery through the New Deal will be compared. Students will achieve an understanding of the "Cold War" years. This will include the study of WWII, origins of the Cold War, and the post-war years (1936-1960). They will get an educational understanding of the different upheavals during the sixties and obtain a better understanding of the Kennedy and Johnson years, civil rights movements, and the Vietnam War. They will be able to see the continuity and change from the Watergate scandal through the Clinton Presidency.

**1st period: Discuss the differences in the Federalists and Anti-Federalists.
**3rd period: Discuss the Era of Good Feelings and the Presidency of Andrew Jackson.

**1st period : Constitution W/S on Article I-Article VII
**3rd period: POP_QUIZ :); Begin discussion of Texas and Mexico "Manifest Destiny"

9/28/2011
**1st period: Finish the Constitution W/S (work with your partner to get it finished)
**3rd Period: Finish notes on ch 9 (texas and Mexico); review for your quiz

9/29/2011----EARLY DISMISSAL/ PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
**1st period: Discuss the answers to the consitution questions
**3rd period: QUIZ on Texas/Mexico and Manifest Destiny; RE-TAKE Benchmark tests since we had not covered all the material on the test
