Chapter 5 Truth and Freedom
1. Freedom is the ability to desire and choose the good. It means accepting
responsibilities of authentic love.
2. Freedom is not about escaping rules, responsibilities, or external constraints.
Authentic freedom involves accepting and living out the truth of who we are
(children of God) and for what we are created (love and communion).
3. Once we choose God and allow him to transform our desires, then the moral life
becomes a life not about rules, but about love.
