*IMPORTANT REMINDERS TO ALL STUDENTS:*  Upcoming AR Due Dates:  9th and 10th Honors AR books will be due on or before Tuesday, May 22nd.  11th Honors AR books will be due on or before Tuesday, May 22nd.  All other classes AR books will be due by Friday, May 18th.  4th Quarter Extra Credit AR books are due by Tuesday, May 22nd; any student not enrolled in an Honors course may read up to two extra credit AR books for the marking period!!

Activities and Actions for the week of May 21st - 25th

Honors English I – Period 1

Monday: In-class activity:  Drama test covering Visitor from Forest Hills.  Conformity and bad neighbor thoughts. 

Tuesday: In-class activity:  Return and review tests.  Read Act One of Thunder on Sycamore Street.  

Wednesday: In-class activity:  Read Act Two of Thunder on Sycamore Street

Thursday: In-class activity:  Read Act Three of Thunder on Sycamore Street.

Friday: In-class activity:  Review activity and discussion for Thunder on Sycamore Street** Your final is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th at 8:00 A.M.  Your final will consist of a test and a writing assignment for Thunder on Sycamore Street.

English I – Periods 4 and 6

Monday: In-class activity:  Parent and technology discussion.  Begin reading The Veldt.       

Tuesday: In-class activity:  Finish reading The Veldt.  Discuss the ending of the play.                      

Wednesday: In-class activity:  Drama test covering The Veldt.      

Thursday: In-class activity:  Return and review tests.  Begin reading The Summer People.  Predict what will happen next.    

Friday: In-class activity:  Finish reading The Summer People.  Discuss the ending!  **4th period's final is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 8:00 A.M.  6th period's final is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th at 10:30 A.M.  Your final will consist of a test on all literary terms (you received a study list) and a test covering The Summer People.

Honors English II – Period 2

Monday: In-class activity:  Move on with Act Five of Julius Caesar by reading Scene Two on page 860 and Scene Three on pages 860-865. 

Tuesday: In-class activity:  Finish Act Five by reading Scene Four on pages 865-866 and Scene Five on pages 867-871. 

Wednesday: In-class activity:  Video and review day.  Action:  Study for test.  

Thursday: In-class activity:  Test covering Act Five of Julius Caesar.      

Friday: In-class activity:  Return and review tests.  **Your final is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th at 8:00 A.M.  Your final will consist of a final exam covering Julius Caesar and your backstabbing essay.

English II – Periods 5 and 7

Monday: In-class activity:  Go over "Notes from a Bottle" using the PowerPoint.

Tuesday: In-class activity:  Begin reading and listening to "Leiningen versus the Ants."    

Wednesday: In-class activity:  Finish reading and listening to "Leiningen versus the Ants."    

Thursday: In-class activity:  Select your short story - begin working on your ABC PowerPoint.   

Friday: In-class activity:  Another class day to prepare your ABC PowerPoint.  **5th period's final is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th at 10:30 A.M.  7th period's final is scheduled for Thursday, May 31st at 10:30 A.M.  Your ABC PowerPoint must be submitted electronically to me prior to the start of your final time.  You will submit your handout pages with your rubric when you walk in my room.  (You received a direction sheet and rubric explaining all of this.)  The day of your final you will also take a test on our last four short story readings:  "Cold Equations," "And of Clay Are We Created," "Notes from a Bottle," and "Leiningen versus the Ants."

Wednesday: In-class activity:  Read "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge."

Thursday: In-class activity:  "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" presentation. 

Friday: In-class activity:  Read "Desiree's Baby."  ** Your final is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 10:30 A.M.  Presentation and discussion for "Desiree's Baby."
