Sept. 12, 2008 We have another busy week next week. Our math unit is geometry; lines, line segments, rays, quadrangles, and polygons. Students have notes and this week's morning work to study. We will finish this unit and do the checking progress on Wednesday. We are continuing social studies map vocabulary and reviewing continents and oceans The children took notes and made pictures to help learn these definitions. There will be a map quiz on Tuesday. Children will have to locate continents, oceans, equator, prime meridian, and hemispheres. The vocabulary quiz will be Friday. It comes from pages H10-H19. We are continuing the Earth/moon/sun relationship in science. That is pages C64-75. It would be great for students to observe the moon phases. Students have a rotation and revolution project due Sept. 22. This does not need to be big and elaborate. I just want to know that they understand these concepts. Spelling quiz on Friday. L. A. packets and reading logs are due Thursday. Enjoy your weekend!
