Wow!!! Time flies. We are in the third quarter of the 2007-2008 school year and that is hard to believe.
The art room is buzzing with activity. We have finished with our 2Q lesson concept of Looking Around- Seeing the World Around Us and we have moved on to Nature & Art - Getting Ideas. Students are asking themselves:
How can nature inspire us as artists?
How has nature changed over time?
How does nature effect our lives?
Why might an artist want to use nature as their subject?
The 3rd quarter of the school years is especially a wonderful time for the arts. March is Youth Art Month and Music in our Schools Month. We will be inviting parents to come and sit with them during their music and art class times during the weeks of 3/10 and 3/17. Come find your inner artist. Both music and art will be highlighting the following artists:

We will also be having a special art club after school activity where parents will be invited to come share the projects the art club students have completed. We will have refreshments for you as well. We have been studying the works of Dale Chihuly. Come see how the students have created their own Chihuly's.
