                 MOHAWK 7-A TEAM NEWS!

October 29, 2001

Dear Students and Parents,
We are nearing the end of the first quarter already, which will officially end on Friday, November 9th.  The year has flown by so quickly, and there is much yet to do.
In an effort to help you - both parent and child - find success during your year in 7th grade, we've happily created this web page to serve the following purposes:
              *provide tips for success
              *provide information on upcoming team
               activities
              *communicate school activities
*inform you of any schedule changes
We hope that it becomes habit for you to refer to these pages for clarification, assurance, and guidance.  As always, if there are other, more specific questions that aren't answered or clarified on this page, please contact us at school.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sittig  Mrs. Rogotzke  Mrs. Loucks, Mrs. Collen
Mrs. Quattrocchi  Mrs. Rothchild

FOR STUDENTS ONLY:
Using this web page alone will not guarentee that you will find the success you need this year.  Please remember how important it is to use your Assignment Notebook as well as to use your time well during activity period and tutorials.  It is your responsibility to come to us to ask any questions and to get any help you may need.  We don't bite!!  REMEMBER - ACTIVITY PERIOD IS PART OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL DAY!!!!!
You all need to really focus on bringing supplies to classes, coming prepared, and working hard to complete your homework - absent or not.  We're here to help you learn a lot of things...you need to do your part too.

Happy end of October!
Your Teachers

FOR PARENTS ONLY:
It is important at this time in the quarter that your child reflect on their performance in 7th grade thus far and determine goals for the second quarter.  We have found ourselves frustrated at the amount of homework that is not being completed and want very much for all kids to find success.  We ask that you check your child's assignment notebook regularly.  Every student should have some homework each night - even if it is just reading.  If you find that your child's assignment notebook is blank, ask your child or have him/her call another student to get clarification.  Seventh graders are expected to have approximately 1 1/2 hours of homework each night.
There are many ways you can stay in touch with your child's schooling, one of which is American Education Week, which will be coming up the week of November 12-16th.  More information on events that week will follow.
We look forward to a great year with your children, much of which depends on your continued support.  As always thank you for this support.

Sincerely,
Mohawk 7-A Teachers
