United States History and Government Mr. Macfarlane's Class Page Homework Policy: Students are given a list of the week's assignments on Monday (or the first day of the school week). These assignments are written in their homework planner. Assignments are due the following day unless specified. Homework is a significant part of the student's grade and is designed to review the day's assignment or as a preview of an upcoming lesson. To receive credit a student's work must be complete. Late assignments are accepted, but at reduced credit. Tests: Students are tested at the end of each unit. Students are tested by California State Standard. Each standard that was covered that unit is assessed by a series of five multiple choice tests written in a way similar to the CAT^ format. This is also a significant part of the student's grade. Powerpoint Presentations: Students have access to all class lectures and discussions by way of powerpoint presentations on the school network drive. These presentations cover each of the standards we discussed in class and will be tested on by way of the unit exams. Students can access these powerpoints in the school multimedia lab or school classrooms. Students can use this as a way to preview upcoming lessons, to review for upcoming tests or for review before retaking exams. Updated Grades: If you as a parent are interested in getting your child's grades emailed to you to keep better aware of their progress email or send me your email address. Most parents find this very valuable. I emal grades every three weeks, more upon request.
