Week of December 6, 1004 Dear Students and Parents, Your children continue to make a lot of progress in third grade. They are busy writing a 3 paragrph story on the concept of giving. In reading they are concentrating on making connections and questioning while they read. Both skills are essential for reading for meaning. While they continue to read silently, they also work of sight words, syllibication, and fluency. In math they continuing to regroup, rename, or borrow (depending on the age we are). It is difficult but they are trying their best. They are also doing word problems, making a table problem solving skills, and addition strategies. We will be starting multiplication with skip counting and arrays this week. They have been busy! Sincerely, Mrs. Adams Monday, December 20, 2004 Special Class Language Arts- Special Class Reading- read for 20 minutes Special Class Spelling- write words 3 times Special Class math- worksheet
