January 12, 2004 Dear Students and Parents, Your children are working hard in reading, writing, and math. In reading we are using Think Alongs, which are workbooks that encourage the students to think about what they are reading and relate it to themselves or other characters in the story while they are reading. I have modeled the process and they will be working in groups on stories. They have just started Book 5 in Wilson too! In writing the students are writing a paragraph in response to a read-out loud! They did an excellent job writing paragraphs on topics last week. In math we are continuing starting multiplication! Ask them about arrays. Have a great week!
