Week of September 27, 2004
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to QUIA. These pages and the web address will change weekly. The address will come home taped in your child's homework books. Everyday the homework will be listed.
We have been busy talking about fall and the changes the season bring. Students have also written a paragraph about fall. Their language arts homework this week reflects this.
In math we are working on number sense. Students have started to keep math journals. Simple addition and subtraction skills (counting up, counting down, finding a ten,etc.), as well as the introduction of new math games have helped them use some known skills and apply them in new situations.
Reading has begun. Every two days students get skill work, sight words review, and comprehension activities in small groups of 3.
