Welcome to the 9th grade. Minerva DeLand is a great building. I know you will be successful this year, and I will help you. I am looking forward to meeting and working with you. The literature is great fun with controversial topics for discussions. I will be interested in your opinions. Feel free to jot them down in your journals so you don't forget what you want to share. The last 10 weeks of 2004 English 9Honors: Students will be reading "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare. In early May we will start "The Odyssey" by Homer, finish our poetry unit and our unit on usage and grammar. We will end the year reading John Steinbeck's "The Pearl."
