NOTE TO STUDENTS and PARENTS: Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great break. I did. The weather was beautiful and I spent a great week in Missouri. However, it is great to be back. Here are some things that are coming up in May. -May 4th: Class pictures. Look your BEST! :) -May 8-14: SEP conferences. If you have a time or day request, please let me know ASAP. BOOK FAIR. This is "Buy one, get one free!" What we will be doing in May: -Reading: Continue home reading, 20/min/day 5/day/wk -Social Studies: Government and election of class officers (President, V. President, Secretary) who will serve for the remainder of the school year. We will also have some appointed officers. -Science: w/Mrs. Denning, animals and animal reports -Language: Poetry, writing and publishing stories -Math: double digit multiplication, division -AR Reading: set goal for reading minutes/books in your reading level range. -Tribes: writing a book and projects as a tribe -CURSIVE? OF COURSE!!! Everything will be written in cursive from now to the end of the year. -Planner: we are going to try to be more consistent with writing and using planners.
