The Music room will be filled with wonderful sounds and smiling faces this year. Currently, we are working on these concepts.
Kindergarten - listening, echoing, following directions, numbers and letters.
First - steady beat, instrument family ID by sight and sound.
Second - music reading, verse-refrain, speaking-singing voice and note values-eighth, quarter and half.
Third - harmony, rounds, partner songs, ostinatos on xylophones and instrument family review.
Fourth - harmony review, syncapation, texture and folk music activities.
Fifth - theory review, composition and beginning our recorder unit-the playing of our first wind instrument.
