June 19, 2001 Dear Friends, It's hard to believe summer vacation is right around the corner. Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday these small first graders entered the school. It is amazing to see how much they have grown over the course of the year, both socially and educationally. These past few weeks have been filled with fun animal and zoo lessons which the children enjoyed very much. Thank you to all of our chaperones who came to the York Wild Animal Kingdom. We lucked out with warm, sunny weather and a nice sea breeze. The kids were quite inspired to create their own "Stuffed Animal Zoo" which was held in the RES gym this past Monday afternoon. Each child researched an animal and created a habitat for their own stuffed model. The projects were wonderful and we all all enjoyed learning as each student present his/her findings in class. Thank you for assisting your child with this project. I hope you all have a safe and fun summer break. Enjoy the beach and I'll see you back at RES in the fall! Sincerly, Carrie Vaich Keefe P.S. If your child would write to me over the summer, send a note to the school 461 Sagamore Rd. Rye, NH 03870
