Welcome to
Mrs. Ruemmler's Kindergarten Class

Dear Parents and Students,
This website is my way of welcoming you and your child to my kindergarten classroom. This year will mark some of the childrens first experience with formal education, though not with learning, because learning begins from the moment of birth. Nor is your child's first experience with a teacher. For you and your family members are the most important teachers. So, you and I have one very important goal in common: the best education for your child.
From time to time, I will send home notes. Some will explain what is happening at school. Others will be requests for your help and interest. Thank you in advance for all you will do to help our class this year.
I am listing a few of the areas the class will explore. The children will be learning about themselves as individuals, as unique members of their family and community; they will explore the use of their senses; and they will learn about personal safety and hygiene. Next they will learn about the contributions that others have made and are making - from those who have made contributions in the past, to those around them in their community. In addition, they will be developing skills in art, music, physical education, science, reading and mathematics. I hope they will enjoy themselves as they explore these areas.
Of course, the new experiences we will have this year at school will become a part of your child's total experience at home and at school. And that is why I will always welcome your thoughts and suggestions. Please share them with me. You and I must work together to make this year a memorable school for your child.
Thank you for your time and concern,

Shirley Ruemmler
