Wow!!! June is here already!!!
The children are continuing to write stories with almost total independence. The children are sounding out words, and using words that they already know how to spell. They are writing stories with 6 or more sentences, with lots of details, introductions and conclusions. I am very proud of how far they have come since September. This month, the students will be focusing on writing sentences using more descriptions.
In Math the children will be learning the last eight math facts. Your child will also be learning how to count dimes, nickels and pennies together. The children are still practicing their other math facts to increase speed and accuracy. Keep practicing at home as well!!
As the school year comes to a close, I would like to thank all of the parents for their support this year. Your children have been a pleasure to work with and I will miss them next year as they become second graders!!! Have a wonderful summer!!!
