Week of 05/26- 05/29
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
Please pray for all of our men and women in the military, past & present.
Last week of school updates:
Churchwerks and grades: Please remember that although grades closed, I am still grading tests, projects, and other assignments. The grades you see on churchwerks are not finalized and won't be complete until right before report cards are printed towards end of week. Thank you for your patience as we work to get everyone's papers graded and all absent and late work updated, as we had many students who were out for illness or took extra days for long weekend and still need to make up work.

MORNING WORK
Each week students will be assigned a variety of morning work before classes begin on Monday morning. All morning work is listed on my smartboard each morning until 8:10, when we begin prayer. All morning work is classwork, and every attempt should be made to complete this in the morning so your child can avoid last minute scrambles on Thursday nights, especially when other homework is assigned.
Morning Work Week of May 26th.
Mt. Language Week - Week 1 Posttest, due Thursday. Students will not be working in groups on this.
Remember, this is a weekly 20 point quiz. If you see your child is struggling with some of these questions, please encourage him or her to work with the group. I discuss the process for this daily and also go over the questions daily.
SpellingNo spelling!
Daily Gramsto be announced
None
Scholastic News - We will read our final scholastics this week, but will not be taken for a grade, as we will do this together in class.
Handwriting Book
None
Journal Entry
None this week.
Bi-Weekly Journal Entries - Every other week I will assign a journal entry prompt on Monday morning. Students are to create a topic sentence from this prompt and then write a paragraph, using the "hamburger" method, that includes a topic sentence, at least 3 detail sentences, and a conclusion. These journal entries are worth 10 pts. I usually select a few to read aloud so that students can "hear" good examples of writing. When students hear what they write, they become much better at creating sentence fluency in their paragraphs. We have some talented writers already in 4th grade!
SOCIAL STUDIES

Homework: We will continue to read in our textbooks about the last 3 regions in our country, Middle West, Mountain, and West regions! Social Studies books will be collected last.
State Research Outline for Powerpoint State Report

Please be sure your child is doing his or her homework by checking planners regularly!
