SUMMER 2009 Hello, my AP students!! Below are the instructions for your summer reading blog assignments. **Cecelia, see my note to you at the bottom of the page. There are three separate blogs, one for each of the books. Each blog has two posts, or questions. The first question can be answered when you are about halfway through the book. The second can be answered upon completion of the book. Links to the three blogs appear below in the Useful Links section. TO POST A COMMENT, CLICK ON THE "COMMENTS" LINK BELOW EACH POST. CHOOSE NAME/URL AS YOUR IDENTITY AND USE YOUR WHOLE NAME. YOU DON'T NEED A URL ADDRESS. DO NOT POST ANONYMOUSLY - YOU WON'T GET CREDIT. You will post a comment to each of the questions on all three blogs (that's six comments total) by Saturday, August 15. You may read the books in any order you choose, and you may certainly read what others have written. In addition, during the week of August 16 - August 22, you will return to each blog and post one comment in response to what someone else has written. (So, three additional comments that week.) You will post a total of nine comments by August 22 , six in which you respond to my questions, and three in which you respond to another student. Comments should be a minimum of 7 sentences, and should have correct spelling, punctuation, etc. NO text or IM abbreviations/shorthand! IF ANY OF YOU EXPERIENCES DIFFICULTY POSTING COMMENTS TO ANY OF THE BLOGS, PLEASE EMAIL ME IMMEDIATELY! (DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE FALL AND THEN TELL ME YOU COULDN'T ACCESS THE BLOGS!) Email me at whitleym@weatherlysd.org . If you don't have an email address, you can make one for free at www.google.com. HAPPY READING (AND BLOGGING)!! ~Mrs. Whitley **CECELIA - Since you are reading two different books, you will post to the Catcher in The Rye page with your own comments about Pride and Prejudice, and post to the Lord of the Flies page with your own comments about To Kill a Mockingbird. You have the same requirement as far as number of posts, but you will be sharing your own observations about the books. Feel free to read the posts of others and ask questions of them about the books you are not reading. If you are not sure what I mean, email me at whitleym@weatherlysd.org. If you don't have an email address, you can make one for free at www.google.com.
