6th Grade Standards

1. All written work is to be done in erasable blue or black pen.
2. Only 8 1/2" x 11" lined binder paper for work may be used with longhand. Spiral bound paper is unacceptable for work that is turned in. Written work may also be typed.
3. Handwriting must be legible.
4. All final copies must be edited for simple grammatical and spelling errors. All papers must be headed and neatly done. This includes the backsides of all worksheets and subsequent magazine worksheet pages. Points will be taken off if these criteria are not met.
5. Assignments must be turned in on time.
6. A missing homework assignment must be completed and turned in on the due date. An assignment will be given 1/2 credit if turned in the next day.
7. All tests and high point assignments must be returned to the teacher with the parent's signature within 3 days after it is handed back to the student. Students will be given a detention for non-compliance.
8. If a student is absent on a test day, an appointment must be made for a reasonable make-up date.
9. It is the student's responsibility to see the teacher and collect missing worksheets, complete all classwork, and to turn in all homework assignments as noted in the class homework log after an absence.
10. Cheating will not be tolerated. Tests and homework assignments in which cheating has occurred will be regarded as 0 points and a detention will result. The grade achieved by the student should be the grade earned by the student.
11. When given a special project, the student should assume the responsibility for its preparation and completion.
