During the months of September and October, our 5th grade Social Studies class will be studying European explorers and the impact they had on the Western world.
We are in the process of creating our own journeys in which the students are imagining they are explorers during the 1400s. They are deciding who they will need on their crew, what supplies and tools they will need, and what their ship will look like. Each group will create a map and trace their routes. They will also write a detailed description of their travels.
Homework will be assigned throughout this project 1-2 times a week.
