Welcome back to all kindergarten through grade 5 students!
The theme for this year is "American Music and Composers."
Kindergarten comes for 1-30 minute period per week.
The kindergarteners just finished their "Harvest Festival" program and did a wonderful job. They will be working in December on musical activities for the Christmas season.
Grade 1 through Grade 5 come to music for 2-30 minute periods weekly.
Grade 1 will be working on music activities in December with a Christmas theme.
Grade 2 will be going to see the "Nutcracker" at the Weidner on Wed. Dec. 5. They have studied the musical themes as well as about Tchaikovsky who composed the music for that ballet. They will be performing the Nutcracker for their parents on Thurs. Dec. 20 at 2:15 in the gym. After Thanksgiving the students will be working on stage to prepare for the "Nutcracker."
Grade 3 will be singing seasonal songs as well.
Grade 4 will be learning a note note on their recorders "G" as well as continuing in their recorder books and also singing seasonal Christmas songs.
Grade 5 has been playing holiday songs on guitars, omnichord, autoharp, boomwackers, chimes, bells and recorders. After Thanksgiving we will add a keyboard and also get in the holiday spirit by singing seasonal songs as well.
Since Pearl Harbor's 60th anniversary is Dec. 7 students will be able see some photos that I took at Pearl Harbor and some things I have collected from there.
