We are singing. We are dancing. We are composing.
We are listening. We are performing. We are stretching our brain to hear and learn about the ingredients of music. WE ARE TROY MUSIC STUDENTS!
At our Middle School, sixth grade students are challenged to play recorders,practice at home,sing strongly and on pitch,and learn all about the music ensembles that are available to experience.
The seventh graders learn to play pianos with correct fingering, pitches, and rhythms. Ingredients of music such as melody ,form, tone color, texture, rhythm, tempo, and volume are experienced and analyzed for a greater knowledge of our subject.
In eighth grade tone color , pitch, rhythm and form knowledge are strengthened. We then delve into a Travel through Musical Times to experience many different styles of music.
