Parents,

Your child is bringing home a new reading book. As you can see from the book the words and stories are getting harder. It is EXTREMELY important that your child read to you every night. They need to practice spelling and vocabulary words as well.

We have been very busy at school. Our friend, Spencer Enticknap was named WJHL's Student of the week. Josh Smith came and visited with us in the classroom. We are all very proud of Spencer!!!

We all had a visit from the Johnson City Fire Department as well. We learned about STOP, DROP and ROLL. We learned that everyone needs a smoke detector in their home. We also talked about having a safe meeting place outside of your home. Does your family have one?

This month's Food Lion Student of the Month is Victoria Southern. She is a terrific first grader! Yeah Victoria! We are all very proud of her.
