GLENWOOD N.A.H.S National Art Honor Society NAHS HISTORY: In 1978, the NAEA began the NAHS program specifically for high school students grades 10-12, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS also strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. (See link below for more information on NAHS) GLENWOOD NAHS HISTORY: Mrs. Swoboda requested and received the charter for our chapter of the National Art Honor Society on December 21, 2002. Since she founded the chapter, membership has grown year after year. The members have created several outstanding projects as part of our goal to bring an awareness of the arts to our community. These include 5 murals at the high school in the gym, main hall, lunch room, media center, science room door, two large stretched canvasses at Northeas grade school and 3 large canvasses in the commons area. Recently finished PROJECT: Mural for Northeas Grade school library of Dr. Seuss characters. NEXT MEETING DATES: TBA The artwork seen here is a blown glass sculpture by Chilhuly. The picture was taken on the last NAHS trip to the Joslyn Museum in Omaha.< 2007 officers President Vice President Historian Treas. Sec.
