February 16, 2012 A NOTE FROM MRS. NECKEL * Crosby Elementary will be hosting the SLSD board meeting tonight at 7pm in the gym. We hope to have a great crowd to watch the student recognitions, presentations and join us for the reception in the Science and Math lab. You’ll get out just in time to head to the Skatin’ Place for PTA Skate Night!! * Kudos to Sammi Carbonell! She donated over ten inches of hair to Locks of Love! * Thanks to everyone who found the time to come in and meet for winter conferences. I completely understand how busy you are and appreciate the conversations we had about your awesome little ones. Highlights from the Week - We started the week with a fantastic Valentine’s Day party! Thanks to all the parents who were here to help, and especially to Mrs. Amanda Durkin for planning a wonderful party for our little ones! We watched biography videos about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington online. Then, the first graders made a large chart comparing their lives to Abraham Lincoln’s life in the past. Skip counting was a focus in Math this week. Ask your first grader to sing the 2’s shoes song, 3’s tree song and 5’s watermelon song! Egg Cartons Please save your egg cartons for our upcoming Family Math Night! You can send them in as you empty them and I’ll store them at school. Thanks a ton!
