A NOTE FROM MRS. FULLER & MRS. NECKEL
* We will be giving a pre-assessment in Math next Monday for our final chapter of the year! We will be covering measurement, probability and algebra before the year ends.
* Please send in a water bottle for your second grader to keep on his or her desk. The temperature is beginning to rise and afternoons in the classroom are quite toasty!
THEME OF THE WEEK
We will be finishing our WEATHER unit next week. The next unit in Science will be on SOUND. We will focus on how sound travels. The second graders will be using old Coca Cola bottles filled with colored liquid to experiment with pitch and tone.
FIELD DAY T--SHIRTS
The second graders will be making “team” t-shirts for field day! Please send in a plain light blue shirt for Mrs. Neckel’s homeroom and plain yellow for Mrs. Fuller’s homeroom before May 18th.
LIBRARY UPDATE
The Crosby Elementary library will be closed for the year as of May 22nd. The students were allowed to check books out this week. Next week, we will only be returning books. Mrs. Loos will use the time to take inventory and send out notices to children with missing books. Just remember, if your second grader is missing books, he or she will NOT receive a report card until either the book or money to replace the book has been turned in to the office.

CHILDREN’S LIBRARIAN
Miss Michele will be visiting us from the Harrison Public Library on May 28th. She will read to the class and share information about the summer reading program at the library!
MARKET DAY
The pick-up for May Market Day orders is TUESDAY
5-19-09 in the cafeteria. This is a different day of the week due to Memorial Day! Orders will be packed and ready for you by 6:00pm. Thanks for your support!
