Welcome! Continuing the colonization covered in the 6th grade curriculum, the 7th grade Social Studies class is the first part of a two-year course in American history. This course begins with the arrival of the Europeans in the Americas and continues through the end of the Civil War. Students will learn political, geographic, economic and social trends associated with the War of Independence, the constitution, slavery, westward expansion, and the beginnings of women’s rights. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge through written work, oral presentations, tests and hands-on projects.
