Internet Safety

 

Basic Rules for Kids to be Safe Online

 

1 – Never give out personal information

For example: name, address, phone number, school

 

2 – Tell a parent right away if you come across something that makes you

uncomfortable

 

                        3 – Never agree to meet someone that you meet online in person

 

                        4 – Never send your picture or anything else without checking with

parents first

 

                        5 – Don’t respond to messages that are hurtful or make you

uncomfortable.  Tell a parent right away!

 

                        6 – Go over rules with parents before going online.  Decide on the time of

day you can be online, the length of time, and the appropriate areas

to visit.

 

                        7 – Keep your Internet passwords to yourself.  Only share with your

parents.


                        8 – Check with parents before downloading or installing software.

 

                        9 – Don’t do anything that will hurt others or is against the law.

 

                        10 – Work with parents on the new technology that you learn.
