News for the class of 2009:
Congratulations to the 152 new members from the class of 2009!
Tuesday, October 14 - election of officers, room 203, before school, passing periods, and second lunch - not during class or after school.
You'll sign in on a roster and will vote on a ballot.

Service hour opportunities
1.George Clarke Elementary School needs help with their Halloween Festival - the festival will be held on Friday, October 24 - if interested, please contact Mary Benitez at 817-615-6780; please contact her by Tuesday, October 14, if you would like to help;
2. On Thursday, October 16, help is needed at the Girl Scout office at 4901 Briarhaven (off Hulen, just north of I-20). They need help from 6:30-9:00 in taking labels off rubber ducks and putting on new labels (this is part of Ducks on the Trinity, a fundraiser for Girl Scouts.)
Free pizza is included.
If you can't stay from 6:30-9:00, that's ok - whatever help you can give will be appreciated.

Service hour forms - If you did service hours out of town last summer (mission trip or some other volunteer activity), please get the documentation turned in as soon as you can. Some years students have had difficulty in locating their supervisors from these activities. Service hour forms are due by April 10, 2009 to Ms. Sikes in room 222. Service hours must be completed since June 1, 2008.

Criteria to be a member in good standing:
1.maintain the GPA and conduct standards;
2.participate in chapter activities (at least as many as 1/2 the number of chapter meetings);
3.complete and document at least 15 service hours.
Criteria for selection:
Sponsors vote on incoming seniors who have
1.a 3.75 or above GPA at the end of the junior year;
2.only 1 N and no U's during their high school career and no serious discipline problems during the spring of their junior year;
3.documented their work in leadership and service.
