TAG students have begun a unit on graphic design. We are learning nine basic components of design, and our knowledge will be incorporated into a study of the Titanic.
This week, students are completing a travel brochure for this great ship. (We are pretending that no one knows it will sink!!!) The two design components emphasized in the brochure are movement and balance.
Next, we will work in teams in a problem-solving activity called "Tinfoil Titanic". It will incorporate analytical thinking and evaluation of a hypothesis in a challenge to see who can create the most "unsinkable" ship! The challenge is that the only material available for construction is aluminum foil! We can't wait to see what unique and original designs we come up with!
