PAP Geometry
Mr. Phillips

I want to welcome each of you to your Geometry class this year. The following information should answer some of your questions about our class. I want this class to be something new and interesting for each of you.

Class Rules:
1. Follow all school rules.
2. Students should bring all supplies with them to class each day.
3. Any behavior that interferes with the learning of any student is unacceptable.

Grading Policy:
Your grade will be calculated on a percentage system.
Tests and Projects are major grades that cover an entire unit of material or
incorporate several ideas. Tests count 60% of your average.
Quizzes cover small units of information within a larger unit of ideas. There
will also be a notebook and notecard quiz at the end of each six-weeks.
Quizzes count 25% of your average.
Daily Work will not be taken up. Homework and daily activities will be kept in
folder/binder. Grades will be based on completion. You will receive either
a 100, 50, or 0 on daily work. We will check work during class and you
will be asked to correct your own papers and be given the opportunity
to ask questions. There is no reason why all your daily work grades should
not be 100’s. Daily work counts 15% of your average.

Make-up work:
Make-up work occurs when a student has been absent. It is the student’s
responsibility to check the make-up folder for missed work, complete the work,
and turn it in. Make-up work should be turned in within 2 class days of the
absence.

Late-work:
Late work occurs when a student who is present does not have his/her
assignment. No late work will be accepted as per our district PAP/AP policy.

Supplies:
paper index cards
pen/pencil textbook
three ring binder/folder graphing calculator*

*Graphing calculators are required for all PAP/AP classes. The TI-83 or
TI-83 plus is the preferred model of calculator. If you have another
model or have questions about the calculator, ask me as soon as
possible.
