Plano High School Golf will be in full swing after an intense qualifying tryout at Cedardell Golf Club from August 13-18.
A first time ever, history making event for the 2008-2009 school year was that Plano had a Girls Golf Team!! Participating athletes were senior, Austi S.; freshmen, Kelly M., Kelsey M., and Maggie B.
The 2009 Girls Golf Team consisted of a much larger and more experienced team: Maggie B., Nancy B., Brandee B., Abby F., Kelsey M., Kelly M, Emma W.
The girls participated in a first ever Interstate Eight Conference meet. Plano walked away in fourth place as a team. Kelsey M. missed making the all conference team by one stroke. The girls also won two meets this year. They hope to improve next year with more wins since all athletes will be returning. Coach McGinnis and the PHS Girls Golf Team are interested in more girls joining the team for the 2010-2011 school year. Each athlete earned varsity letters this year. Post season recognition also goes to Brandee B. for I-8 All Conference Academic and Most Improved Golfer; Kelsey M. for Most Valuable Golfer, and Kelly M. for Honorary Captain awards
