A WEAK PULSE, IS A SIGN OF: *HEART FAILURE *SHOCK *AN OBSTUCTION OF BLOOD CICULATION WHAT IS HEART RATE? *HEART RATE is the NUMBER OF HEART BEATS PER MINUTE. - can be measured by feeling the pulse (the rythmic expansion and contraction of an artery as blood is forced through it) - the pulse can be felt at the wrist, neck,or groin. -the usual heart rate is between 60-100 ~If it is greater than 100, this is called TACHYCARDIA (INCREASE IN HR) ~If it is below 60 , this is called BRADYCARDIA (DECREASE IN HR) WHAT DOES IT TELL? In Tachycardia, one feels: lightheadness breathlessness In Bradycardia, one feels: weakness loss of energy fainting
