This past week our class enjoyed the production of "Beauty and the Beast" by the Carranza Puppets. The program was provided by the MDE PTA.
The week of February 18-22 we will study the ending "ing". Our words of the week will be "have" and "giving". The theme will be "Presidents Day". Please continue to urge your child to reread our small phonic take home readers. Having them tell you "what the story is about" is important in developing comprehension. This past week your child received a home reader. Please bring it back on Tuesday and a new one will go home on Wednesday. The following week, February 25-March 1, we will review long and short vowel sounds. Our words of the week will be "put" and "play". The theme will be Dental Health.
In math, we will begin exploring subtraction in real situations with concrete objects.
Next week, I will be sending home a schedule for parent conferences. They will begin Friday, March 1, through Thursday, March 7. Please complete the form and return it to me as soon as possible.
Remember to send a daily snack for your child. Please mark the snack with your child's name to eliminate any confusion at snacktime. Also,If your child does not know how to tie his/her shoes, please work on this at home.
This past week, Alison Strealy has been our Razzle Dazzle student. Thanks for all her help. She shared many of her favorite things with us throughout the week. This past Monday we enjoyed listening about Buddy's adventure at Madison Zeller's house. This weekend Buddy is with Alyssa Snider.
