Welcome to the TOEFL Prep 11 Class

You have probably had a great deal of experience studying for the TOEFL. In this class, we will try to expand your knowledge of the English language in terms of listening skills, vocabulary & grammar, as w ell as reading skills. In addition to these skills, you will also have many chances to work on a computer to find resources that will help you with  your studies.

I will be adding new links, exercises, and quizzes from time to time. Also, I'll put the h omework for the class on this page. Please check this class page for any new information.

Homework
For class on 10/9, finish the "Internet Scavenger Hunt" worksheet and decide which textbook you will use for this semester (you do not need to br ing or buy one for class). More details about which sections to work on w ill be announced in Wednesday's class. Plus, if you have NOT done the online quiz, please do that before Wednesday's class.

Since 10/14 is a holiday, please complete the homewo rk f or Wednesday 10/16. Finish the "Test Performance Analysis" worksheet and d o 5 EXERCISES OR 5 PAGES of textbook work that focus on the se ction you are weakest in.

Every Wednesday, complete ONE TV & Movie Report. Remember you can view Englis h mo vies at the KG Li brary or Language Center Library (Bldg. 4, 3rd floor), rent a video, or watch TV.

For 10/21, finish the 2 worksheets on synonyms, antonyms, and meaning from context.

For 10/23, do your second TV/Movie Report and do the online re ad ings. In class we will practice reading by doing a reading race. The homework will be to do the reading & vocabulary work on the CNN website listed bel ow.

The homework for 11/13 is to do the next TV & Movie Report and to do the online structure quiz below.

In class we worked on prepositions with the worksheets made by all of you. For homework due on 11/18, please finish the worksheets for "Parts of Speech". We will review the answers to the online Structure quiz in class.

Do the idiom catagories y ou signed up for and make the 6 Dialogs based on the questions you missed. Th e dialogs are due on 12/3..z wl
